Power window not working, remove door trim and lubricate

Power window not working, remove door trim and lubricate

Yes I know I was going to post about the creak from the rear... it's coming... soon

I could hear the Passenger side door window trying to open but it would budge. So off with the interior trim

1. Remove screw holding upper trim

2. Remove screws holding latch chrome plate

3. Remove the ingress lamp. These are so fragile. The slightest movement shatters them. Unplug the two leads and label for later replacement.

4. Remove the lock button.

5. Remove the Power seat switch (they pull off although may need gentle levering with a screwdriver)

6. Remove the Power seat trim plate (clipped on at front end). This covers the larger screw for the armrest/handle. May need WD40.

7. Remove the armrest/handle (3 screws)

8. Remove the interior door lever cover (soft plastic insert)

9. Remove screw holding the door lever backing plate.

10 Sign ELNO...

11. Now the door is held on at bottom by a screw on some models, mine doesn't have that.

12. The door trim should lift straight up and out BUT... mine was somewhat stuck to the door. I used a thin blade to separate the sticky trim without trying to pull it off. Be aware there are several hooks to levering may break those. You should be able to lift straight up avoid pulling outward as those hook break (mine did). If they break some quality double sided tape will come to your rescue :0)

13 Took a look at the mechanism. Gave it a good does of grease on the geared lever.

14 Tried the switch. Working better but I think the electric motor is tired. Will have to investigate further....
